Youth create over 800 artworks to cheer up sick

MORE than 800 artworks by students from Kindergarten to Year 10, are on show during this year’s Operation Art exhibition at the Armory Gallery at Sydney Olympic Park.

An initiative of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in association with the NSW Department of Education, all students who enter the exhibition are asked to produce pictures they think will cheer up other children who are in hospital.
Following the exhibition, 50 of the works are gifted to the hospital for them to display.
Student artist and winner of the Senior Curator’s Choice Award, Jasmine said it was really special to know her work will be among those to be hung at the hospital “to make sick kids happy”.
Entry is free, and the exhibition is open daily until November 16 from 10am to 4pm.
