Women excited for group to meet up for first time in nearly year over Covid

WITH so much to catch up on, more than 50 women are excited to be heading to the first Revesby Ladies Group meeting today after a Covid break of nearly a year.

The group is one of the last to resume at Revesby Workers’ Club following the Garden Club, Spearfishing Club, Toastmasters and Darts as well as all the sporting groups which have been on offer for a while in modified formats.
Group spokesperson Bev Spring said they chose to hold off returning until it was safe to go back to their beloved Macarthur Room which was one of the club’s smaller rooms but with full Covid-safe protocols in place.
“We have missed each other enormously and sadly lost four members in the last year,” Mrs Spring said.
“A few of us have been meeting up for coffee but we have definitely missed our marvellous group; it’s ideal for women and a fantastic way to make new friends and gives you something to look forward to every week.
“We meet up every Wednesday from 9.30am and have morning tea and hear from a guest speaker; this only costs $4. Then many of us head into the club for lunch.
“Once a month we go on a coach trip; there’s always an interesting destination. We haven’t worked out all of those details yet since have only just made the decision to resume but we are so looking forward to seeing everyone again.”
