Woman charged over fake Covid certificate

A PRIMARY school employee from Merrylands West has been charged after she allegedly provided a fraudulent Covid-19 vaccine certificate to her workplace.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad were investigating the activities of a south-west Sydney-based organised criminal network (OCN) when they identified an associate of the OCN allegedly fraudulently obtained a Covid-19 vaccine certificate last October (2021).
The 55-year-old woman, who is a school administrative manager, was arrested at her home last Tuesday morning and charged with dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, dealing with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000, and participating in a criminal group.
During a subsequent search of her home, police allegedly seized cash, documentation and electronic items for further forensic examination.
