Woman, 85, struck and killed

AN 85-year-old woman who died after being struck by a truck at Potts Hill last Wednesday night, was reported missing from Guildford earlier that morning.

Police were called to Rookwood Road shortly before 7pm, after multiple calls reporting a person walking on the road. But before police arrived, a southbound B-double truck struck the pedestrian.
The driver immediately stopped and rendered assistance however, the woman, who had been reported missing to police about 7am that morning, died at the scene.
The driver, a 70-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Arrest five over unit shooting
FIVE people have been charged after a shooting at Roselands last Tuesday night.
About 10.40pm, emergency services were called to a unit block on Canterbury Road and found a 30-year-old man with an injury to his right hand. He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Campsie Police arrested two women who were charged with conceal a serious indictable offence, while a man was charged with custody of a knife and being armed with intent.
A 31-year-old man was charged with reckless wounding and affray, while a 23-year-old man from Greenacre was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, conceal serious indictable offence of other, and affray.
Inquiries are continuing.

Charge man with stab murder
A MAN, 58, has been charged with murder after another man died in hospital following an alleged domestic related stabbing in Sefton early Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to a home in Torrington Avenue, Sefton, about 4am after the alleged stabbing. Paramedics treated a 63-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his neck before he was taken to hospital in a serious condition. He later died.
A 58-year-old man, who was known to the injured man, has been charged with murder and wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
