Welcome 200 ‘Aussies’ taking oath

ANOTHER 200 people will now call Canterbury Bankstown ‘home’.

Mayor Khal Asfour (pictured) joined State MP for Lakemba, Jihad Dib, Uncle Johnny and Councillors Deputy Mayor Bilal El-Hayek, Sazeda Akter, Karl Saleh and Chris Cahill, to welcome them during a colourful Citizenship Ceremony at the Bryan Brown Theatre last week.
“Watching our newest citizens singing the Australian Anthem and lining up to take photos and say ‘hello’ is why I love this City,” Mayor Asfour said.
“I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing the contributions they make to our community.”
