Villagers raises over $2,000 to help support sick young

AFTER learning that almost 20 children are diagnosed with cancer each week in Australia, Donington Gardens Retirement Village residents decided to do something to help, managing to raise over $2,000 at an event earlier this month.

Organised and catered for by the residents, the fundraiser was attended by 80 visitors who enjoyed their home-baked cakes and slices, finger food and sandwiches.
There was also a craft stall selling beautiful handmade goods as well as homemade jams all made with love by Donington Gardens residents.
Client Engagement Manager Darinka Rukavina says community spirit was well and truly felt on the day.
“Our residents are to be congratulated on their efforts,” she said.
