Truck fire extinguished

A FIRE truck with a cherry picker was used to fight a truck fire in Lidcombe this afternoon afternoon.

Crews from four stations including Lidcombe, Bankstown, Chester Hill and Revesby were called to Amy Street opposite the RSPCA building just after 12pm on Tuesday, September 1.
The first firefighters on the scene arrived to find a semi-trailer with flames through the roof after a load of dry rubbish it was transporting caught alight.
Crews worked to extinguish the blaze, and called in the aerial appliance to access the top of the truck.
The fire was brought under control shortly before 1pm and firefighters helped move the truck to an area where the load could be removed.
Traffic was heavily impacted in the area.
