Transdev bus drives NAIDOC Week spirit

DECORATING one of their buses to celebrate NAIDOC Week on Monday, the team at Transdev NSW Bankstown Depot also invited Uncle Harry Allie, who was appointed the first Indigenous Elder of the Royal Australian Air Force in 2012, to join them for a special morning tea.

Transdev NSW Managing Director Robert Macey Mr Robert said they were proud to see their NAIDOC Week bus out and about in celebration of the achievements and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Uncle Harry said NAIDOC Week was an opportunity for communities to learn about heritage and culture.
“I am a proud Charters Towers-born descendant of the Gudjala Tribal Group. I joined the Air Force in 1966, inspired by photos I had seen of my uncles and aunt in uniform,” he said.
“I enjoyed a wonderful career and continue my work with committees that give recognition to Indigenous servicemen and servicewomen.”
