Traditional treats with modern flair

CRISPY, golden Turkish gozleme stuffed with all sorts of tasty fillings; choose from spinach and feta, or spiced beef or lamb, you’ll want them all at Yum Yum Kebabs in Newington.

And that is only one of the culinary delights on offer at the eatery, established seven years ago with Dilek Er at the helm, and featuring a range of delicious snacks and meals.
All halal and with vegetarian options, meals include succulent meats, salads, breads, chips and rice.
There’s Turkish Pide, chargrilled lamb and chicken kebabs (Triple Shish includes three skewers of your choice with cabbage, tomato, onion and carrot salad, bread and free garlic dip), Shish rolls, beef or chicken burgers, falafel balls or wraps, modern and traditional salads and dips like classic chilli, Cacik, hummus and yoghurt, chilli and garlic.
Recently introduced, the quarter or half charcoal chicken meal comes with salad and chips, with the meals so good, “they run out of the door at lunchtime”.
Dilek is very proud of the dips which she makes herself.
“They are certainly very popular and customers often order extra and enjoy them with the share plates or for dipping in the chips or kebabs,” she said.
With most of the seating alfresco, Dilek adds that she loves operating her eatery right in the centre of the Newington Marketplace.
“It’s such a family friendly area,” she said.
“It’s nice and safe for children so parents can let them play while they sit back and enjoy a yummy snack or meal.”
With the team also happy to discuss catering needs, Yum Yum Kebabs is open seven days a week, 9am-8.30pm and can be found on UberEats.
