Track carnival gear up

Night racing bike event offers band, food, bar and excitement

FEATURING live commentary, a nine-piece band, food, a bar and, of course, plenty of exciting track racing, the Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club is hosting Day 2 of the Sydney Xmas Track Carnival at the Tempe (Canterbury) Velodrome in Earlwood on Saturday, December 28, from 6pm to late.

Commentator, Paul ‘Crafty’ Craft will talk you through each race, so even if you know nothing about cycling, you won’t miss out.

When there’s a break in racing, funk band Bump City will keep toes tapping and there will also be food trucks, a canteen and a bar.

Six thousand dollars in cash and prizes are up for grabs in the five-day competition series which kicks off at the Dunc Gray Velodrome with the first event hosted by the Bankstown Sports Cycling Club (CC) on Friday, December 27.

The third round will be hosted by the St George CC at Hurstville on Sunday, December 29 and the fourth round will be hosted by the Lidcombe Auburn CC at Lidcombe on Monday, December 30.

Riders then return to Dunc Gray for the fifth and final event on Tuesday, December 31.

Tickets for Day 2’s Night racing event are $10 in advance, or $15 at the door.
