Three schools score share of $400,000 funding windfall

THREE schools are among eight recipients in the Granville electorate to get a cut of $400,000 in funding from the Community Building Partnership Program.

Among those to receive funding are Delany College in Granville for renovations ($115,000), Granville Boys High School P&C Association for a Community Cricket Facility upgrade ($33,550) and St Patrick’s Primary School in Guildford for a playground shade sail ($33,000).
State MP for Granville, Julia Finn, said she was delighted to announce the funding which would be used to upgrade facilities and help provide new or better services for residents.
“As we recover from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic over the last two years, this investment in our community will make a big difference,” she said.
“Our community will benefit from new infrastructure for schools and community groups, and will help pay for much-needed improvements to local parks. This funding will help make a positive difference in our local area.”
Delany College Principal Paul Easton said the renovation of the undercroft (church crypt) at Delany, meant that the area could be better utilised by the school community and create additional space for learning.
Applications for the 2022 program will open early next year.
