Teen dies at scene after car slammed into tree

A TEENAGER has died after crashing his car through a fence and slamming into a tree in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Auburn Police, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, were called to Wellington Road near the Auburn Golf Course at 3.30am and found 18-year-old Abdul Zalfa trapped in the wreck of a crumpled black BMW 325i sedan.
Members of the teen’s family arrived at the scene shortly after the horrific accident but despite the desperate efforts of first responders to revive him, he died at the scene.
His distraught father Mahmoud said he had earlier asked his son to be careful when driving the powerful car.
“He said, ‘look after my sister’, he hugged me and kissed me and said, ‘you’re the best dad I’ve ever seen’,” Mr Zalfa said.
“He was a beautiful boy, he had a beautiful heart, he helped everyone.”
His Aunt Shamae Zalfa also issued a plea for other teens to “drive safe”.
“If you’re five minutes late, (it’s) just better than being buried by your loved ones,” she said.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who was travelling in the area at around the time of the accident or who has dashcam footage, to contact Auburn Police on 9646 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
