Breakfast Club gets day off to good start

A SELECTION of tasty cereals are on offer at Granville South Public School’s breakfast club for students on the canteen verandah every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.30am.

FUELLING students up for success, a Breakfast Club at Granville South Public School is helping children get their day off to a tasty and nutritious start.

Principal Karen Macphail said Woolworths donated a large quantity of breakfast cereals to the program, which is run three days a week by assistant principal Lana Williams with the school’s student leaders and supported by youth worker Jess.
She says the Breakfast Club is targeting students who may not have had time to eat a nutritious breakfast at home.
“The aim is to ensure every child has a quality breakfast which is known to improve concentration levels in the classroom,” Mrs Macphail said.
“We also ensure we are environmentally friendly by purchasing quality cups and bowls that students wash up after each session.”
