Shots fired at home and car

POLICE are appealing for information after shots were fired at a house in Regents Park early last Wednesday morning.

About 12.55am, police were called to a house on Yukka Road, Regents Park, following reports shots were fired into the property and a car parked out front.

Auburn Police attended and established a crime scene, with initial inquiries suggesting  the shooting may be targeted.

There were no reports of any injuries and inquiries continue.

Detectives from Auburn and Ryde Police Area Commands, are investigating after a number of public place shootings in recent days, which are believed to linked.

As part of proactive policing strategies, Operation Talon, assisted by the Tactical Operations Unit and South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, conducted a Firearm Prohibition Order search at a home unit and garage at Berala last Wednesday afternoon.

During the search, police allegedly located multiple rounds of ammunition and an extendable baton. The items were seized to undergo forensic examination.

A 33-year-man was arrested and charged with possessing a prohibited weapon.

Detectives are continuing inquiries into the shootings, which will be complemented by ongoing proactive policing strategies by Operation Talon.

Operation Talon is a proactive policing strategy to prevent and disrupt public acts of violence, including shootings, and target the possession and supply of illicit firearms.
