Shrek the Halls at Botanic Gardens

SHREK is heading to Auburn Botanic Gardens to help celebrate Christmas.

Community groups will perform carols and families can meet characters, including Shrek, Puss in Boots and Princess Fiona, and enjoy an outdoor screening of Shrek the Halls and Shrek Forever After along with rides and other activities at the Shrek themed celebration on Saturday, December 7, 6-10pm.
Last year’s Christmas in the Gardens attracted nearly 10,000 people, and Cumberland Mayor Steve Christou said they were hoping for similar numbers this year.
“Christmas is a magical time for families and young people in particular and a time to focus on coming together as a local community,” he said.
“It’s free so I invite local residents to come along and take part in this very special evening.”
A free shuttle bus will run between the Auburn Train Station and Gardens during the event, and limited public parking is also available on Chiswick Road.
The council is also putting up 11 outdoor Christmas trees and themed decorations across Cumberland in the lead up to Christmas.
“We hope that Christmas trees will help residents and businesses get into the Christmas spirit and promote shopping in these areas of our local community,” Cr Christou said.
