Shoppers can enjoy talented in free shows

MAHALIA Barnes and Prinnie Stevens (pictured) will be performing for shoppers at Roselands Shopping Centre and Bankstown Central, respectively, along with a number of up-and-coming local acts.

They will be performing as part of Vicinity Centres’ Spotlight Series which will see many of its centres share their stage with homegrown musicians and entertainers “to bring light and hope to one of the hardest-hit industries from the pandemic”.
The series has been curated by Australian singer-songwriter Mahalia, who will be performing at Roselands Shopping Centre on Saturday, December 18, from noon, while Prinnie will be at Bankstown Central on Sunday, December 19, from 3pm.
Mahalia says the last few years have been incredibly difficult for retailers and the music industry, and is excited to share the spotlight with a line-up of incredible local musicians.
With 95 per cent of Australians revealing music positively impacts their lives, Vicinity Centres is thrilled to bring shoppers world-class entertainment and a unique experience while also giving back to an industry in need.
David Henderson, Marketing Director of Vicinity Centres, said the shopping centres had a rich history in supporting communities and they now felt it was the perfect time to give back to the music and arts scene in a big way and shine a light on some amazing homegrown talent.
“We’re thrilled to bring the gift of music to our retailers, customers and local communities across Australia,” he said.
“Music is such a powerful way to bring people together and reconnect on a human and creative level after what has been a difficult time for retail, hospitality, music and the arts over the past couple of years.
“That’s why we believe our shopping centres is the perfect platform for the Spotlight Series.”
