Selling conditions ‘best in 20 years’

First National Waters and Carpenter’s John Pollicina says now is the ideal time to sell your property.

WITH only one month left before winter, Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) is urging homeowners who had been thinking about selling their house prior to Covid or waiting until Spring, to not keep those plans on hold.

REIA President Adrian Kelly said the pandemic had created a lot of uncertainty, but we have definitely come out on the other side with market conditions continuing to improve and the Australian economy bouncing back.
“Demand is strong with buyers hungry for housing but it’s difficult to know how long the good times will last,” he said.
Cumberland real estate agents agree.
First National Waters and Carpenter’s John Pollicina says it’s always a good time to sell when there is a shortage of stock.
“If you want until Spring, you open yourself up for more competition when more people list their properties for sale,” he said.
“The stock availability determines the pricing and now we have great demand and don’t know when it’s going to stop so it’s best to sell now.”
Likewise L H Hooker Auburn’s Themy Panagiotidis says now is the ideal time to sell.
“Confidence is high and interest rates are low,” he said.
“In fact, conditions are probably the best I’ve seen in 20 years; strike while the iron is hot.”
Phillip Daidone Realty’s Frank La Malfa says there is always a lot more competition in Spring so list before then if possible.
“When there’s a lot more stock and choice, buyers get pickier,” he said.
“Now is the best time for sure to list your property for sale and beat the rush.”
