School jumping up ladder in state HSC ranking thrill

MAKING tremendous progress in recent years, Auburn Girls High School (AGHS) has achieved outstanding success in the HSC, NAPLAN and School Pride.

In HSC School Rankings, the school has jumped 182 places in the last two years, with girls achieving 145 Band 5 and 6 results in English Advanced, English Extension, Mathematics, Mathematics Extension, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, PDHPE, Visual Arts and Languages.
In 2019, 50 girls achieved early university offers and there were many girls with multiple offers from different universities.
In NAPLAN, student gains have consistently outperformed similar schools and often state averages.
AGHS offers a wide subject choice to suit the interests and abilities of all students.
“Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEMs) subjects are especially popular with the girls and we take great pride in cultivating the interest and success of our girls in these frequently stereotyped subjects” Principal Anna Tsoutsa said.
The students wear their uniform with pride and enjoy the extensively upgraded facilities and resources including technology, science labs, library, play grounds and a soon to be established café.
The school’s dedicated, caring and hardworking teachers and staff have put the achievement and excellence of students as their highest priority, embracing the school’s motto of ‘Learn Lead Succeed’.
“Auburn Girls is a school we can all be proud of as a community,” Ms Tsoutsa said.
