Record success at school

WITH Relieving Principal Nicole Monk describing it as one of the best years that Lidcombe Public School has achieved on the sporting field and in the water, 14 students have represented Auburn Zone at the Sydney West Swimming Championships and nine others at the Sydney West Carnival.

Auburn Zone Representatives were: AFL – Abdallah Fayad, Isaac Alameddine, Jireah Fanene, Uate Sevele, Tai Solioa, Zion Fifita and Mohamed Chebib; Softball – Karishna Kirubakan, Lachlan Manalo, Seliann Magnus, Tania Solioa, Alexis Richards, Serenity Breeze Tuainekore and Kimmela Rabago; Tennis -Mohammad Dib (who also competed at the NSW State Championships); Soccer – Alexis Richards and Zara Goncalves; Netball – Hidy Chen, Zara Tiwari, Seliann Magnus, Serenity Breeze Tuainekore and Tania Solioa; Rugby League – Isaac Alameddine, Abdallah Fayad, Jireh Fanene, Uate Sevele, Tai Solioa, Serenity Breeze Tuainekore, Zion Fifita and Josua Kagi; and Touch Football – Abdallah Fayad, Isaac Allameddine, Jireh Fanene, Uate Sevele, Tai Solioa, Serenity Breeze Tuainekore and Tania Solioa.
Sydney West Representative teams competing at the NSW State Championships, included Eileen Lee and Seanna Chung who were both selected in Sydney West Swimming team and Jireh Fanene and Isaac Alameddine who were both selected in the Sydney West AFL team.
Tai Solioa was selected in the Under 11yrs Sydney West Rugby League team and competed at the State Championships in Kiama.
While Jireh Fanene, Uate Sevele, Tai Solioa and Serenity Breeze Tuainekore were all selected in the Sydney West Rugby Union team.
“We still have our Auburn Zone Athletics carnival next term,” Nicole said.
“I am certain we will then have students representing the zone at the Sydney West carnival from that team as well.”
