Popular pitstop when craving comfort

WITH the arrival of blustery Autumn, more of us are craving comfort foods and there is no better pitstop than Berala Kebab House.

Grab a nourishing cup of homemade lentil or lamb soup and a free slice of Turkish bread and tea or how about tucking into a chicken and mushroom pie?
The list is endless, however Berala Kebab House owner Nev Aslan says his soups are just as popular in summer and ideal if you’re looking for an extra burst of energy, especially in the morning.
Open seven days a week from 6am to 9pm, Berala Kebab House has seen most customers return after a quieter last year due to Covid and Nev says now is the time for him to step back and hand the reins over to son Jason.
Nev says they both love cooking and even do all the cooking at home.
“Most of the time, as in the store, our portions are generous and our neighbours benefit regularly,” he said with a laugh.
Proud of the fact that they haven’t changed the prices in five years, Nev says their shish kebabs are not only the highest quality but the most affordable in Sydney.
“We have so many customers saying to us why would they go anywhere else when everything they love to eat is right here.”
With the hearty breakfast menu extremely popular, their range of dips including hummus, baba ganoush, beetroot, garlic, rice pudding, chilli yogurt and Tzatziki, are highly sought too.
“For lunch, we make a good gozleme with any flavour combination,” he said.
Also on the menu are plenty of succulent charcoal chicken dishes, delicious burgers, pizzas with free garlic bread, fish and chips, Turkish pides and homemade baklava.
The team is also happy to discuss catering options and offer a 10 per cent discount to nursing homes for group orders.
