Padstow TAFE student wins national Wildflowers Australia Floristry event

PADSTOW TAFE Floristry student Katrina Ciechowski has won the annual Wildflowers Australia National Student Floristry competition.

After studying Certificate III in Floristry, she is now studying for her Certificate IV.
Praising her TAFE teachers, she said they made the class feel more like a community.
“My knowledge has come a long way from when I started to where I am now,” she said. “Entering competitions is a good way to see how you’re improving. I entered the Royal Easter Show and received a highly commended award. Now I’ve won the Wildflowers Australia National Student Floristry competition. It was such a big surprise.”
She said her winning wildflower crown represented the transformations of change and chaos experienced during the pandemic.
“Now with the return of live entertainment, my vision is to have an Australian artist wear the crown on stage,” she said.
“It’s a comeback piece, bright and blooming.”
