Offers feast of events and opportunities to celebrate

AT Birrong Girls High School, teachers and students are living up to the school’s motto, ‘Ad Astra: To the Stars’.
In keeping with this year’s theme, ‘Learning Together’, Education Week will be all about students getting involved, trying something new and having fun.

Teachers and students are celebrating their achievements and innovations through a week-long festival of events showcasing the role that collaboration plays in building successful relationships.
There will be something to tempt everyone.
To get everyone moving, volleyball and table tennis competitions will run at lunchtime.
Creative art lovers can experience a student/teacher portrait drawing competition, theatre sports competition, or be the audience for the scintillating speakers in the annual Henrietta Wooster Speaking Competition finals, named in honour of the school’s first principal.
To learn a new skill, students can attend a Japanese calligraphy workshop, or a textiles display project.
If quiz shows are more their style, they can participate in the student versus staff flag of the world competition or Historical Trivia Show.
Teachers and students can also vie for the honours in the chess competition or show skill in the multiplication challenge.
In true MasterChef style, students can show off their culinary skills by entering the bake-off.
No matter the preference, Education Week at Birrong Girls High School celebrates the ongoing successful partnership between staff and students, underpinned by a warm, nurturing culture that fosters active participation.
