Nominate special neighbour for win

HAS your neighbour gone above and beyond the call of duty to help you out during the pandemic?

Or have you heard of others supporting or running errands for elderly neighbours at any time but especially during their time of need during the last two months?
Canterbury Earlwood Community Association (CECAL) is calling on residents to nominate individuals for a 2020 Neighbour Award.
“Now more than ever we must rely on our neighbours for solidarity and companionship,” a CECAL manager Jacquie Cheetham said.
“Covid-19 has changed the world but we must not let it change our community spirit. “We have heard so many wonderful stories of neighbours who have stepped up in these past months, even more than ever before, to support their neighbours.
“We’d love to share some of those wonderful stories.”
This year CECAL is also celebrating neighbourhoods by asking residents to share photos or artwork of things they love or appreciate in their neighbourhood, local landmarks, nature or history.
“We encourage you to nominate your neighbour, to share your stories with us and let your neighbours know you care and recognise their efforts,” Ms Cheetham added.
With awards to be given on the Neighbour Award Day 2020 on Thursday, June 18, the deadline for nomination is 10am on Thursday, July 16, and can be submitted via email
(reception@cecal.org.au), mail to CECAL, PO Box 192, Earlwood 2206, or dropped off at CECAL, 15 Clarke Street, Earlwood.
