More than $1 million of cannabis seized

Police allegedly located and seized 184 cannabis plants at Panania, 121 plants at Georges Hall and 384 plants at Sefton.

A 66-year-old man has been charged after nearly 700 cannabis plants were allegedly seized in Panania, Georges Hall and Sefton.
Last month, Bankstown detectives established Strike Force Polar to investigate drug supply, manufacture and cultivation throughout the local area.
Following inquiries, strike force investigators, assisted by South West Metropolitan Region Operations Support Group, executed three search warrants at homes in Panania, Georges Hall and Sefton, from about 8.20am yesterday (Wednesday, June 3).
During the searches, police allegedly located and seized 184 cannabis plants at Panania, 121 plants and 1.7kg of dried cannabis leaf at Georges Hall and 384 plants at Sefton.
The total estimated potential street value of the cannabis is $1.7 million.
The Cabramatta man was arrested outside a home on Beale Street, Georges Hall, and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with cultivate cannabis (between indictable and commercial quantity), supply cannabis (between indictable and commercial quantity), possess cannabis (between indictable and commercial quantity), and take part enhance indoor cultivation plant for commercial.
