Creative showcase impresses Minister

VIEWING facilities at Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School first hand, NSW Minister for Education, Sarah Mitchell, joined State MP for Auburn, Lynda Voltz, on a visit last week.

Ms Voltz said she was pleased the Minister was able to join her, adding that she was looking forward to seeing “more investment” into the school and others across the electorate in the future.
“We were able to meet with the principal and school leaders, as well as view the school facilities and discuss the vital need for investment into an outdoor learning area,” she said.
“The Minister was also treated to the fantastic creative skills of the students at the school.”
Last week, Ms Mitchell also announced that the State’s 2020-21 Budget will include a $337 million Covid learning support package, including $306 million for primary and secondary students to receive free small-group tutoring.
She also called for expressions of interest from educators, including casual and retired teachers, final year teaching students and university tutors, including PhD candidates who are already teaching undergraduate classes at university, to help “re-engage students in their schooling”.
