Man stabbed in arm in brawl

WHAT allegedly began as an argument quickly turned nasty when a man was stabbed in Granville last week.

Last Monday about 2.45pm, police will allege a 32-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were walking across the overpass at Granville Railway Station when a 34-year man, who was known to them, approached and became verbally abusive. Police said the argument became physical, with both men punching each other and wrestling onto the roadway on Good Street.
During the incident, a ceramic vase was broken and the older man allegedly stabbed the younger man in the right arm with a piece of the vase before fleeing the scene.
Cumberland Police rendered first aid to the man who was conveyed to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
A short time later, police arrested the 34-year-old man on nearby Bridge Street and he was charged with reckless wounding.

Teen trio stab charges
A MAN has been charged with stabbing three teenagers during a brawl in Auburn last month.
About 4.50pm on Saturday, June 27, emergency services were called to Auburn Road, following reports of a brawl of up to 20 males, but when police arrived the group had dispersed.
Four teenage boys – two aged 15 and two aged 14 – were found with stab wounds and minor lacerations and were all taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Crime scenes were established at various locations on Auburn Road, which were examined by specialist forensic officers.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at Auburn Police Station last Wednesday and charged with affray, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of reckless wounding in company.
Police will allege in court that the man stabbed three of the injured teenagers during the brawl.

Cyclist in car collision
A POSTAL worker was seriously injured when the motorcyclist she was riding collided with a car in Guildford.
Investigators are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or either vehicle prior to the collision to come forward.
About 4.50pm on Tuesday, June 23, the 55-year-old woman, a postal worker, was riding west along Rhodes Avenue, Guildford, when she collided with a VW Golf travelling south on Milner Road.
The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition. She has since undergone surgery for her injuries.
The two occupants of the car were uninjured. The driver, a 22-year-old man, was spoken to by investigators and was released pending further enquiries.
