Locals to benefit from bridge boost

THE pedestrian footbridge along Duck River at Auburn, has been replaced after safety concerns were raised by residents.

Inspecting the new walkway with Councillor Paul Garrard before Christmas, Mayor Steve Christou said the bridge incorporated “recyclable materials to better conserve the natural environment”.
“We’re delighted that the council is able to deliver new facilities that are environmentally friendly and provide better and safer access for residents,” he said.
Cr Garrard said the local community in the area would “certainly benefit” by the work.
“We’re very pleased to be associated with this upgrade, and particularly pleased that we’re involving companies that use the latest technology to provide great facilities for our open space.”
