‘Lift you up, feed your soul’

YOU’LL feel like you have died and gone to heaven as a chorus of angelic voices lifts you up and feeds the soul at the Combined Choirs Concert at Bankstown Arts Centre this Saturday.

Conducted by Linda Marr, the choirs feature the best of Bankstown, Dulwich Hill, Annandale, Blacktown and Campbelltown.
Linda says the concert is to celebrate the joy of being able to meet again in community spaces and raise their voices together.
“We will be performing a selection of songs that were learnt in isolation through the online mediums of video tutorials and zoom meetings,” she said.
“Many choir members say this was a lifeline during Covid when they had no other regular contact with the outside world.
“The choirs come from far flung corners of Sydney but have a common love of singing and creating spine tingling harmony.”
With some ancient and new, traditional and composed, the songs are performed in a variety of languages celebrating the multicultural community.
“Come and bathe in the beautiful sounds we create when we join our voices together in song,” Linda said.
The concert, starting from 2pm, is free but bookings are essential at: combined-choirs.eventbrite.com.au or call Bankstown Arts Centre on 9707 5400.
