Judges reveal not easy picking ‘best’

WITH thousands of nominations received and finalists now decided, this year’s Cumberland Local Business Awards program is going ahead despite the Covid-19 health crisis.

Precedent Productions Managing Director Steve Loe said the program would proceed, with the only change being the delay of the presentation evening and the announcement of winners at Wenty Leagues Club until October 6.
“I have no doubt everyone is experiencing the stress of uncertainty during this unprecedented time,” he said.
“All of us at Precedent Productions extend our thoughts to those of you who are doing it tough.
“Now, more than ever, small businesses and their staff in the Cumberland area need the support of their community.
“However after more than 35 years of running the Local Business Awards, I have come to learn that Australians are courageous, resilient, resourceful and community spirited people.”
Mr Loe said the Local Business Awards had always provided a morale boost to businesses and their staff by allowing the community to show their appreciation and support for their hard work and dedication.
“We can and we will get through this by sticking together and supporting the ‘ShopLocal’ campaign,” he said.
He also praised anonymous judges who are visiting finalists to assess their services from a customer’s point of view.
“Our judges have told me the standard among all finalists is incredibly high, making it difficult to determine clear winners,” he said.
“This comes as no surprise to me as over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many Cumberland business owners and their staff, hearing their stories and seeing their dedication for myself.
“Every finalist in every category is listed in this special Auburn Review supplement, ensuring the entire community is aware of who is regarded as the ‘best in business’.”
