Japanese-Lebanese fusion eatery debuts

IT only opened a fortnight ago but Japanon Cafe, specialising in fantastic coffee and Japanese-Lebanese fusion snacks and meals, already has a steady stream of repeat customers eager to grab another delicious Matcha Tumeric Latte, Dirty Chai, Nutella Marocchino, Decaf or a Caramel Coffee Syrup to name just a few.

All great value around $4, the full coffee and tea suite is available with the Japanon team Marcel and Hiroki partnering with Colombian Connection Coffee for their supply of coffee beans – ‘Mule’ from multiple coffee farms or ‘La Bomba’, a single origin bean which is unbeatable for non-milk coffee, according to Marcel.
With the experienced foodies and food operators giving customers their seventh coffee for free, they also feature a range of delectable croissants, including banana and nutella, almond and classic ham and cheese plus pan au chocolate, flourless orange cake and muffins.
The breakfast menu includes bacon and egg rolls, brekkie wraps with the works, scrambled egg wraps and popular smashed avocado with feta and lemon on toast.
Customers can also choose from a vast array of smoothie and milkshake options.
Planning to extend the menu soon, lunch from 11.30am daily includes burgers comprising chicken karaage, chicken katsu, chicken or beef teriyaki, Japanese schnitzel with wasabi, cheeseburger with babaganoush or vegetarian falafel wraps – all around $9.
Meal deals are available too including Bento boxes with donburi rice, salad, sides, chicken or beef and a can of drink for $13.50.
With two cute, curly-haired mascots Eddie and Patsy, Marcel says dogs are welcome and catered for.
“The community has been just so amazing and we can’t thank them enough for their wonderful support in the last two weeks and hope to meet more locals soon,” he added.
On offer everyday, Japanon Cafe opens at 6.30am-3pm, Monday to Friday, and 7am-3pm on weekends.
