Hunt over hold-ups

A TWO-HOUR crime spree involving three armed robberies at Earlwood, Campsie and Belmore last Thursday night, has police on alert.

POLICE are appealing for assistance after three armed robberies last Thursday night.
About 8pm, a 28-year-old woman was walking on Undercliffe Road, Earlwood, when she was threatened with a knife before her phone and backpack were stolen.
Half an hour later, a masked man entered a mixed business on McKern Street, Campsie, and threatened the attendant with a hammer, stealing cash and cigarettes.
The employee and his 18-month-old child weren’t injured.
In a third incident, about 9pm a man entered a convenience store on Burwood Road, Belmore, threatened a 28-year-old customer with a knife, and stole an employee’s phone and cigarettes.
The customer and attendant were not injured.
Police believe the robberies are linked.
They would like to speak to a man described as being of African appearance, between 180cm and 190cm tall, of solid build.
He was last seen wearing a surgical mask, black ‘Nike’ hooded jumper with the word ‘SWOOSH’ on the front, a white cap, red tracksuit pants, black gloves and dark Asics runners.
