How customer ‘avatar’ can boost your small business

IT’s not enough to have a great product or service if you want to start your own business.

Facebook and websites are ideal for branding but you need to know how to generate your business leads effectively and the different tactics you can use to work out a customer ‘avatar’ or a detailed profile of your ideal customer.
According to the founder of The Marketing Angel, Kham Lee Tran, an ‘avatar’ goes into much greater depth than a regular marketing persona, providing marketers with many more targeting tools.
“A lot of people will launch their business and then dive straight into it but it’s important to go back to your first step in order to grow your database,” Ms Tran said.
“So many great businesses go bust because they run out of money through lack of effective marketing.”
Also ‘MumPreneur of the Year’, Ms Tran has over 20 years’ experience implementing marketing tactics and strategies for offline marketing and digital marketing for corporate companies and small businesses.
Since last year, Ms Tran has ventured into teaching startups and small businesses how to do digital marketing themselves.
She is on a mission to help as many business owners fast-track their digital marketing knowledge and results, and will host two upcoming webinars for Cumberland Council this month.
With event organiser Western Sydney Business Centre, the first on Friday, July 17, is ‘Discover the Benefits of Email and SMS Marketing, Tips to Getting More Subscribers and Types of Email Marketing’.
The second will be on July 22 and is titled, ‘Explore Eight Different Marketing Strategies to Grow Your Business’.
