Gordon brothers give Eagles wings

Club Coach, Jarryd ‘Flash’ Gordon was joined by his little brother Kerrod ‘Rod’ Gordon for dual hundreds against Strathfield at home in the Sydney Shires competition.
After a day one, on day two, captain Ardil Domingo won the toss and chose to bat, then sat back and delighted in some skilled bating.
Jarryd scored 101 runs while ‘little’ brother Kerrod on debut for the Eagles, made a flowing 121. Domingo mercifully called an end to the carnage 3-(dec) 261.

Then Nasir Jalil took immediate wickets leaving Strathfield 5-9 at one point. Eventually they were all out for 110. Nas Jalil took 4-31, with Yasir Ali, 2-19, Tom Wood, 2-18 and Raj Lamba, 2-16 taking the wickets. This cements the first grade Eagles on top of their ladder.
Second grade also had a definitive win by bowling Strathfield out for 206 and getting the score 3-209.
Captain Martin Azzimi scored 95 and Shafeeq Nouree, 55.
Strathfield fared better in third grade when they scored 191 and bowled the third grade Eagles for 112 to get a first innings win. Dan Gauci took 5-30 and scored 20 runs but that was not enough. Only Adam ‘Not So’ Young scored 24 and skipper Mo Dewji, 220, got any useful runs.
Again, in fourth grade, Strathfield dominated by scoring 9-(dec) 193 and skittling the Eagles for 56 to take first innings points.
There is now a new fifth grade in Shires and Auburn fell short with 108, just losing to Burwood, 111. This new grade will play matches which are not synchronised with the higher grades until the rest of the Shires clubs are fielding teams.
