Free footy clinic on offer for girls

HOW would your footy-loving daughter like to get some coaching tips from A-League Women and the Matildas?

This fantastic opportunity is on offer at a free holiday clinic for ages eight to 13 years (beginners or advanced), hosted by Bankstown CIty Lions Football Club (BCLFC), at Jensen Park, Regents Park, from July 11-13, 9am-12noon.
A BCLFC spokesperson says the next few years will be an exciting time for female football in Australia, with the spotlight on the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
“Football Australia is working to introduce the next generation of girls to the wonders of football, which includes attracting more players and ensuring that there is a pathway to further develop the next generation,” the spokesperson said.
“BCLFC is quite fortunate to have highly skilled professional footballers representing Bankstown in the National Premier League. Many of the players have A League Women experience and a few have represented their countries as Matildas, Junior Matildas and Junior Football Ferns (NZ).”
“We want to give girls in and around Bankstown an opportunity to be coached by our amazing players, and for our players to impart their football skill and wisdom.
“More importantly, we want these young aspiring footballers to understand that that there is a development pathway for them in football.”
