Firies rescue stranded cat

MORE used to rescuing cats from trees than a ledge on the 18th floor of a unit block, firefighters rose or rather dropped, to the challenge at Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday.

Firefighters were called in to help out Abito the cat, who had managed to get himself stuck on an outside ledge at the Boomerang Apartments in very windy conditions.
A spokesperson for Fire and Rescue NSW said when specialist crews arrived at 12.30pm they found the “unimpressed cat was not only stuck, but it was not easily accessed”.
However using ropes and harnesses, a firefighter was safely lowered from the rooftop down the outside of the building and after carefully reaching out and securing Abito in a bag, the adventurous moggy was reunited with his very grateful owners.
