The Savour Australia Hostplus Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program that recognises exceptional service and culinary talent across Australia.
For Head Chef Darren Foots and his team, this meant a process of mystery diners attending a meal at Firestone Kitchen And Bar, with adjudications made on all aspects of the dining experience, in this case pertaining to the “Family Experience”.

The open plan kitchen creates a welcoming focal point for guests to enjoy the culinary skills of the talented kitchen team while they prepare flavoursome food from an extensive menu offering traditional classics with a modern twist.
Now open for breakfast on Sundays, 9am to 11am, the restaurant offers guests a comfortable and relaxed casual dining experience with seating inside and an adjoining alfresco terrace which features an outdoor fireplace, lush garden beds and hanging greenery, white lamp posts and exposed brick.
The purpose-built roof system has been designed to allow guests to enjoy natural light while being protected from the outside elements.
