A new study is investigating the impact of changes in work and home arrangements on fathers' involvement in everyday activities with their children.

Researchers are looking for Australian fathers (aged 18 years or over) who have a child aged six years or younger to participate in a study looking at the impacts of covid-19 on families and parenting.

The research aims to investigate the impact of changes in work and home arrangements on fathers’ involvement in everyday activities with their children.
Participants will be asked to answer questions related to their work situation and involvement in parenting tasks since the beginning of covid-19 pandemic.
University of Wollongong (UOW) Associate Professor Jane Herbert from the School of Psychology said the study aims to investigate the impact of changes in work and home arrangements on fathers’ involvement in everyday activities with their children.
“This study will help us understand and analyse the impact of covid-19 on Australian fathers’ who may have been managing their time between parenting and work commitments from home,” she said.
“Fathers play a significant and unique role in children’s development. This study will assist us to analyse the different patterns and behaviours families are going through during this crisis.”
