Family home under fire

THE occupants of a home in Yagoona were lucky not to have been injured when it was shot up on Monday night.

About 9.45pm, a number of shots were fired from a vehicle travelling on Emery Street, Yagoona, into the front of a home. Fortunately the occupants were not injured.
Police are investigating and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Servo ‘held up’ twice in four days
A BELMORE service station has been robbed twice in four days by a knife-wielding bandit.
Last Thursday about 8pm, a man armed with a knife entered a service station on Punchbowl Road, Punchbowl and threatened a 41-year-old male employee, before stealing cash and cigarettes.
He left the area on foot and was last seen heading towards Benaroon Road.
The employee was not injured.
Campsie detectives searched the area but were unable to locate the man.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, and was wearing a red face mask, blue hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants and gloves.
In the second attack last Sunday about 9.30pm, a man armed with a knife entered the store and demanded cash from the 30-year-old male employee.
He stole cash and cigarettes, before fleeing the scene on foot down Benaroon Road. The employee was uninjured.
A search of the area failed to locate the man.
Detectives are investigating any links between the two robberies.

Did you see motorbike, car crash?
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle and car collided in Villawood on Monday night.
About 7.30pm, a motorcyclist was heading west on Villawood Road, near the intersection of Woodville Road, when it collided with a car heading east.
The 22-year-old rider suffered a fractured leg and was taken to hospital for treatment, while the 38-year-old driver of the vehicle stopped and rendered assistance.
Bankstown Police are investigating and are calling for anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them.
