F45 trainers in challenge to help ‘blue’

THEY may have needed the next day off work after completing a 12-hour rowing challenge but two Padstow F45 Gym trainers Jessica Fenton and Liam Meadham say it was worth it after raising over $4,000 for Beyond Blue last Sunday.

After a few clients and friends had said they were struggling mentally with the impacts of the pandemic, Jessica and Liam wondered what they could do to help and hatched the plan for the charity fundraiser, completing in the 12-hour challenge in half hourly, alternate intervals.
“Our bodies were very sore the next day and it was a huge mental and physical challenge but we are so happy that through our online donations and also the jar in the studio which hasn’t been counted yet and contains ‘quite a few big notes’, we have been able to raise a nice amount for the mental health charity which helps so many people in the local community and beyond,” explained Jessica who two years ago, competed in Las Vegas, USA, and was voted the world’s most inspirational trainer for F45.
Still inspiring people, she said F45 was getting back into the swing of things and was fully open again but with restrictions in place.
“We have only 20 people a class as per government directives but have introduced more classes so that we can accommodate everyone,” she said.
“Then after each class, we are madly sanitising all of the equipment and everything that’s been touched to keep members and staff safe.”
