Effie’s back at club just for a laugh

DURING the apocalypse of 2020, Acropolistic Goddess Effie Stephanidis (the alter-ego of comedy legend Mary Coustas) has been all mask and no filter.

Now the mask is finally off for 2021, and you can breathe easier knowing that the one and only heiress of hilarity is back on the road and coming to Bankstown Sports in July.
In her new show ‘Hello Good Thanks – Better Out Than In’, the hairess of hilarity is keen to share the experience of her year of pandemonium.
On the hardship, she says: “It was the year the sh*t hit the fan and there was no toilet paper to clean it up with. I thought about raiding the supermarket to get me some of that coveted white roll with a hole but I’m famous. I couldn’t risk getting into a scrag-fight with someone. They’d call the cops. They’d take away my Logie.”
She says the one thing that wasn’t in lockdown was her appetite: “I seriously contemplated writing a Covid memoir called ‘Eat, Pray, Eat’.”
There were some Covid benefits too: “Not having to visit my drunken, bitter, botoxed mother-in-law was a major benefit as well as getting Jobkeeper; that was a much-needed dollop of cream on the Covid sh*t pie.
“Now we no longer must marinate in our own mask filled halitosis. It’s time to get out and have a major laugh and a half. It’s the least we can do.”
Hear more of Effie’s wisdom at the club on Friday, July 23, with tickets available at bankstownsports.com.
