Arthur said his team lacked patience in the second half.
“I’m always proud of the effort though and we need to keep front-loading that in every game.”
The Eels next take on the Bulldogs from 5.30pm on Saturday at Stadium Australia Sydney.
Eels slip in smashing win
A HAT-TRICK of tries for Fijian flyer Maika Sivo and a breakout performance from born-again star Bryce Cartwright, led Parramatta to a dominant 46-6 victory over Brisbane on Friday night.
It was sweltering conditions in Darwin but the Eels made it look easy as they accounted for the lowly Broncos with relative ease.
From a 6-6 deadlock, the introduction of Cartwright – who was thrown a $150,000 lifeline by Eels coach Brad Arthur late last year when he had no other NRL options – broke the contest open after Brisbane’s big men laid one hell of an early platform up the middle.
“I knew he had ability and when I spoke to him he indicated it was his last opportunity,” Arthur said of Cartwright.
“He’s got plenty of skill … and I thought he did really well for us tonight.”
