Drugs, cash seized from car and house

A MAN and woman have been charged after drugs and cash were allegedly seized from a car and house in Chester Hill yesterday.

Following investigations into drug supply in the Chester Hill area, detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command attended a house on Kenward Avenue to execute a search warrant about 12.20pm (Tuesday, August 11).
When police arrived at the location, they found a 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman seated in a black Toyota Hilux in the driveway of the property.
Police spoke with the pair and saw a large amount of cash in the vehicle’s centre console, suspected to be from the proceeds of crime.
The pair was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station, before investigators established a crime scene at the property.
During a search of the car, officers allegedly located close to $10,000 cash and a resealable bag containing a small amount of cocaine. Inside the home, they found approximately 260 grams of cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.
The items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
The man was charged with knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime, goods suspected to be stolen in/on premises, and possess prohibited drug.
The woman was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, and supply prohibited drug.
As part of ongoing investigations, police also seized a white Toyota Hilux containing a prohibited drug on Gurney Road, Chester Hill, about 1pm yesterday (Tuesday, August 11).
