About 3.30am Auburn Police, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, were called to Wellington Road where they found the driver and sole occupant – an 18-year-old man – trapped in the vehicle. Despite efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and an investigation is underway. A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who was travelling on Wellington Road about 3.30am and has dashcam footage, to contact Auburn Police on 9646 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
