Donate bag of items for women

EVERYONE is being urged to donate handbags filled with feminine hygiene products and other essential items to help women experiencing poverty, homelessness and domestic violence to White Lady Funerals for their Christmas charity drive.

Part of the nationwide It’s in The Bag campaign, held annually by Australian women’s charity Share the Dignity, residents are encouraged to bring a handbag containing sanitary products, unused deodorant, toothpaste, shower gel, socks, a brush or other necessities to the White Lady Funerals at 35 Kitchener Parade, Bankstown, before December 7.
White Lady Funerals manager Kerry Sieper says they are compelled to support this initiative because they know that there are women in our area who need help affording the basic hygiene products most of us take for granted.
“We also know that these small items have a big effect on their confidence and everyday comfort,” she said.
“As members of the Bankstown community and a dedicated, professional team of women, we are proud to be of service, and greatly appreciate all contributions.”
Once all donations have been made, Share the Dignity volunteers will distribute them to domestic abuse shelters and drop-in centres ahead of Christmas Day.
