Covid alert on train

PASSENGERS on a Merrylands bus and trains at Lidcombe and Merrylands stations last week, are among dozens of public transport users now on alert for symptoms of Covid-19.

This includes anyone travelling between Merrylands and Parramatta train stations at approximately 3.40pm on August 24, 25 and 26; those on a bus from Merrylands Park to Parramatta Station and a train between Parramatta and Lidcombe stations at approximately 7.10pm on Thursday, August 27; and on a train from Lidcombe to Merrylands station at 7.20pm.
On Sunday, NSW Health said unless otherwise notified or identified as a close contact, passengers were considered casual contacts and must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop. After testing, they must stay isolated until a negative test result is received.
With the virus continuing to circulate in the community, NSW Health is continuing to urge people to stay at least 1.5m apart and to wear a mask in situations – especially on public transport – where physical distancing is difficult.
