Choirboys rocking in for Australia Day lineup at RSL

WHEN you think of Australia Day, you can’t go past one of Australia’s rock staples, the Choirboys (pictured).

For one exclusive Australia Day weekend show, they will perform all their hits – including their pub-rock anthem Run To Paradise, plus six hits from Tom Petty at Canterbury-Hurlstone RSL on Australia Day eve, Saturday, January 25.
Celebrating over 40 years together, Choirboys is one of Australia’s most authentic pub rock icons, having released a swag of enduring rock anthems including Boys Will Be Boys, Never Gonna Die and many more. They have multi-platinum albums and have survived when so many others have fallen.
Giving Tom Petty a Choirboy makeover, they will raise the roof in a way that only those in the 1980s will really remember.
It will be a big Australia Day weekend at the club with a range of events including: Saturday, January 25 – Big Science Show will offer gigantic bubbles, hair-raising electricity experiments, fire balls and much more from 10.30am. The show is free but bookings required; Wild Family Fun will be at opportunity to meet and take photos with some Australian native animals, 11am-3pm (free); The Australian Anthems Experience will be playing the biggest hits by Australian bands and singers from 9.30pm (free). Sunday, January 26 – Enjoy a great Aussie meal with a lamb roast, 12-2pm. Costs $5 members, $10 visitors; Lonnie Lee will be presenting his ‘Back to Base X’ show from 3pm. One of the founders fathers of the Australian Music and Television Industry his rock ‘n’ roll show is unique and authentic. Tickets: $5 members, $10 visitors.
