Children invited to ‘Try Baseball’

THE Holroyd Giants Baseball Club will hold a free ‘Try Baseball’ session for children at their home field in Guildford West this Sunday, August 7, 1-3pm.
With teams open to children from the age of four right through to senior players, club secretary Jenni Kane says baseball is a great team sport for all ages that also offers individual players a chance to improve their skills.
“As a mum, I feel that baseball is a safe sport for kids to play, especially as it’s a non-contact sport and we now live in Covid times,” she said.
The Try Day is a chance for your child to try a sport that develops their hitting, catching and throwing skills run by accredited coaches.

“It’s so easy and fun for them if they start young playing T-Ball before going on to play baseball,” Jenni said.
“We are also an Active Kids Provider, so you can use your Active Kids Voucher here.
“The Holroyd Giants is a really nice club to be a part of. It’s run by families and everyone is a volunteer.
“We always have the best interest of children and our players at heart.”
The baseball season runs from September to March, with training at the club’s home ground at the Guildford West Sportsground in Foray Street on Thursday afternoons and games played on Saturday mornings.
