Cash splash for all

IF you like dining out you could be a winner with the State Government offering four $25 ‘Out and About’ vouchers to every resident aged 18 and over in yesterday’s budget.

Every adult to get $100 for food, outing

A pilot program will be launched with businesses and attractions in the Sydney CBD next month, however details of the trial are yet to be finalised including whether or not it will be immediately open to all residents.

The scheme is part of efforts to boost hospitality, arts and tourism businesses hit hard by the pandemic, and Minister for Customer Service, Victor Dominello, said Service NSW would operate the pilot to “iron-out any issues” before launching across NSW in the new year.
“This program is ambitious and the first of its kind in Australia,” he said.
Treasurer Dominic Perrottet says the $500 million program is aimed at encouraging people to get out and enjoy the best of NSW.
“NSW acted swiftly to save lives and stop the spread of Covid-19 and we want to help businesses by encouraging spending within local communities,” he said.
Under Out and About, two vouchers can be used for eating in at venues, with two more for spending on entertainment.
