Carols by Candlelight in park to boost festivities

CELEBRATE the joy and magic of Christmas this year with the Rotary Club of Padstow at Carols by Candlelight next Sunday, December 19, at Playford Park from 6pm.

As the word carol – a joyful song – suggests, carols bring us together and connect us in groups of shared experience and feelings.
Padstow Rotary president Keith Roffey says one of the reasons Christmas carols bring such a sense of consolation and connection is their familiarity.
“Music has the power to move us and no more so at Christmas when carols unite singers and listeners alike,” he said.
“This year it is important to celebrate how far we have come after getting through the lockdown.
“Christmas is a time of goodwill for all people, Christian and non-Christian alike, and now more than ever, we want to forget our worries, relax with family and enjoy the upcoming festive season.”
A free event, there is no need to book for the 53rd Carols by Candlelight which will feature food stalls, entertainment, a visit from Santa and an amazing fireworks display at the end of the evening.
“Tell your family and friends and secure a great spot early to watch this year’s Carols show,” Keith said.
