CANTERBURY District Soccer Football Association (CDSFA) launched its centenary season in spectacular fashion at Rudd Park on Monday.

The long-awaited event was emceed by leading football personality, Simon Hill, with several CDSFA members as well as local politicians and mayors in attendance.
CDSFA Chairman Armando Gardiman touched upon the great history of the association in his address and thanked the clubs for their ongoing support ahead of what is a very special year for CDSFA.
The launch ended with a small-sided football showcase which saw kids from CDSFA’s clubs given the opportunity to play on the new synthetic pitch at Rudd Park.
The Centenary Gala Dinner will be on May 28 at Le Montage, Lilyfield and will be a chance for all members of the football community to come together to pay homage to the CDSFA’s rich history.
Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour said it was a wonderful milestone for the club and they were certainly kicking a few goals.
“I’ve watched this organisation go from strength to strength over the years, and they provide and support thousands of young footballers in our City,” Mayor Asfour said.
“They should be proud of their achievements as they have nurtured many fine footballers, who have gone on to represent our state and country.
“Let’s hope they keep kicking goals for many more years to come.”
